I am always looking for ancestors and cousins. I hope to hear from some of them on this site.

I was born in Wilkes Barre in 1933 and attended St. Nicholas for the first and second grades - was in the graduating class of 1951.

My grandparents were HAHN, BALZ, KLEIN AND SCHMITT.

I get thru W-B once or twice every year - and always looking to make some contacts.

Hi Joe: While perusing thru the Luzerne county website, came across your message. Two of the names, Klein and Balz are in my husband's family by marriage. Bill's ggrandfather, Patrick Lally had a daughter named Mary Jane who married a George Kasper Klein at St Nicholas Church in 1887. Bill's grandmother, Norah Lally was also a daughter of Patrick's and the older sister of Mary Jane. The children of George and Mary Jane were Helen, Frances, Bernard, George, Paul and Elizabeth.

William Balz and Josephine Schultz Balz were the parents of Gertrude B. Klein. Gertrude and Jacob were the parents of Marie G. who married William Funk. Their daughter, Gertrude Mary married Paul Philip Lally. He was the youngest son of Francis Lally(brother of Mary Jane) and Loretta Ann Cleary. Paul was raised by Norah, as my records showed that Loretta died a few days after delivering Paul.

Let me know if this is of any interest to you. The name of Hahn is also familiar, but cannot think why at this time.

Look forward to hearing from you. I have had a very difficult time in establishing any information on Patrick Henry Lally.
